Grief Services for Children
Our Sea Star Children’s Program provides services to meet the unique needs of children and teens who have experienced the death of a loved one. We provide grief support focused on promoting resiliency, hope, courage, and self-esteem.
Individual, Family, and Group Counseling
Our children’s bereavement specialists work with children and families to provide an individualized counseling experience to meet each child’s unique needs.
School-Based Support
We offer grief support groups at our community’s public and private schools. In-school grief counseling promotes recognition of the child’s feelings, increases peer support groups, and connects skills learned in the group with the school environment.
Grief Camps
Our campers have one thing in common – they all know what it is like to lose someone very special. Our grief support camps allow campers to come together in a safe environment to identify ways to cope with change, improve self-esteem, learn to recognize and validate feelings, identify safe ways to express grief, and recognize that having fun is still a part of life. Family Fun Events
Our family fun events provide opportunities for families to know they are not alone in their grief. These events are designed to unite grieving families in activities that promote family togetherness and fun.
Workshops
Our workshops offer children a creative way to express their emotions. We also offer a quarterly workshop for caregivers of children who have experienced the death of a loved one.
